Mandie's Page: "Ms. Frizzle"
Hello, my name is Mandie Goddard and I am the Special Olympics Coordinator for the St. Joseph School District as well as a coach for Special Olympics Missouri, North Area. Special Olympics is a non-profit organization that provides year-round Sports training and competition to individuals with intellectual disabilities. We serve athletes from 3 years of age through adulthood.
Special Olympics Missouri provides the opportunity for these athletes to play on the playing fields of several sports, such as Basketball, Softball, Aquatics, Track & Field, Flag Football, Powerlifting, Golf, Tennis, Bocce, Bowling, Figure Skating, Speed Skating, and many more. We adapt the sports for every level of play, from individual skills to team sports. Special Olympics Missouri is a volunteer based organization, that has only 32 paid staff members statewide who provide programs for over 15,000 athletes. Here in North Area, there are 27 counties and provide programs for 1,200 athletes with two paid staff and a lot of volunteers, all coaches, committee members, and chaperons. Special Olympics receives no Federal or State funding, we raise our money for our athletes through Corporate Sponsors, Individual Sponsors, Civic Sponsors and through our fundraisers such as the Polar Plunge!
Please join me in the plunge by raising the minimum and joining my team or if you choose to hiberate, that is fine, but please DONATE!
Thank for you for visiting my fundraising page. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.
